Pros
I've been with PPD for two months now and am very impressed with their training and onboarding. I've been in clinical research for just over 10 years but this is my first position on the CRO side and as a monitor. Therefore, I had to come in as an entry level CRA. The CRA Academy is a blend of self-paced, instructor-led, online modules, reading, role play and shadowing/observational visits. Please be advised that I haven't yet started working on my study/client assignment so I can't speak to that. However, I've had a very thorough onboarding and have been enjoying my time at PPD.
Cons
Takes a while to be allocated to a study/client. I also had to take a substantial pay cut because I've never been a monitor before. I'm hoping advancement is quick considering my years' experience in the industry.
