Pros

People at junior and mid-level are excellent. Good social environment. People work hard, then let their hair down.

Cons

No learning and development. All talk, no action. Severe lack of leadership from senior management. Lack of people skills, particularly one of the lead partners. Lack of remuneration increases. Promotions are discussed but then nothing happens and no one can say how the decision was made. Handball! Handball! Handball! Benefits-what benefits?

Pros

Wins work across a wide range of interesting work from high profile turnarounds and insolvencies, to government advisory work to management consulting work. Fairly open and laid back culture that gives employees a lot of autonomy and benefit of the doubt, providing the work gets done. Driven in part by cultures brought from Big 4 firms (as a large portion of directors and partners are ex big 4). Opportunity to work with partners (some ex Big 4, some not) who are market leaders in their field. Travel (typically interstate) to projects all around Australia or to offices in Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane and (less likely, but possible) Singapore. Excellent open plan offices in a newly built building in Sydney CBD

Cons

Grown rapidly over last 7 years, and whilst the systems and processes are starting to catch up they are behind where you would expect for a company that wins the type of complex work that it does They are working on their diversity, and have an undoubted commitment to do so and are clearly investing in this area, but a way to go to fully achieve it
