Pros

okay, let me just start this off by saying that the people at PLS are some of the best people I’ve ever met in my life. so many people that I consider friends two months in. everyone treats each other like family. There’s fun competitions and incentives. they play music while you do your calls during the day. It’s a really cool atmosphere.

Cons

on the flipside, you have to make 200 cold calls a day. The one thing they aren’t transparent about on the interview are the number quarters you have to hit during certain months. it’s a very intimidating role and you’ll talk to a lot of people who are jerks to you. There’s a lot of pressure which comes with any sales job. Right now, the market for freight is that softest it has been in years. it’s a grind and you have to earn your keep or you’ll get fired after three months. if you hit your margin goal by month three that’s when the benefits kick in before that the only thing you have is 401K. you also have to work one Saturday a month but it really isn’t bad and you can get a lot done with it if you use that time right.

Pros

The Colleagues and relationships you make with your co-workers. Building a book of business, and fast paced environment. Unlimited Growth Potential.

Cons

The direction the company is headed in and the toxicity of an everchanging management structure. As someone who spent almost a decade with PLS; I can say fully and honestly, they do not care about you. This is a company to build experience with and move on from. If you are a $20K rep for more than 6 months, after you roll out, they will move off of you. You will be terminated with no second thought--other reps will poach your clients and potentially ruin any relationships. Furthermore, management tends to play favorites--If you show growth potential, they will feed you, but the moment you fail on one opportunity--you will be turned over. This is not the job for anyone who questions their own ability and work ethic. PLS Hires in classes - they will hire 30-40 people at a time, and in 3 months, 4 to 5 people of that class will remain. The turn over is extremely high and there is no job security. Finally, even if you are a top performer, they will not hesitate to get rid of you.
