Working with puppies will forever be a pro, but I felt so fulfilled finding the puppies their perfect families and helping these families understand the dogs needs.

Some of the management was a little inconsistent and rules only applied to few it seemed.

None. You get to see dogs

Terrible to the dogs. At the time we had 10 dogs per kennel (3’x5’ ish in size) and 10 kennels in the store. We had every dog coming in either sick, or gets sick just by how packed they are in the main “window”. Techs and staff blamed for the owners mistakes, made us sign contracts that they refused to give you copies of (which I’ve never experienced anywhere else) they allowed a return of a dog that was dying because it ingested something at home and owner also blamed staff for this as well. Fired a bunch of people and downsized to two tech and a vet tech per shift which was no where near enough help to cover 100 dogs in the store and kennels that had to be kept spotless at all times. A good flow was 4 techs per shift for 100 dogs. Apparently having staff to rotate and cover is a waste of time and techs should be told they don’t get to be sick (even though we got sick often because of the dogs) and to fire any who called in. So we were supposed to basically have no staff and constant turn around. Pay was barely above minimum wage while new hires got 10.50-12.50 an hour. Refused to give raises to long term employees and would rather hire new hires at the higher price (makes no sense) As a manager, expect to work doubles daily and 6 days a week when the kennels and shipments are overcrowded. They allowed manager and employee relations to go on which affected the other employees. Don’t expect to get overtime pay unless you go out of your way to alert payroll of your extra hours even though they are already in front of their face. All around bad experience. Every manager we had walked out.
