Pros
The health insurance is what hooks you as it is the best in the industry. Schedule is consistent and I've been able to have children and go to school while working there. Employees are rock solid and fun to work with. You also get to know some of the better customers allowing you to build relationships with them building a sense of community. PCC donates money to various organizations which I admire and is also involved with the local food banks.
Cons
Worse place to work so much that I have to convince myself just to go in every day. Management team is inconsistent and will "nit pick" you to death making you almost feel as if you are being bullied. Stupid policies such as we are only allow to drink water in the checkstands which is frustrating when I'm clearly an adult and know how to drink coffee without spilling it. Favoritism is well known throughout the company as they hire based on how well you play the game versus actually knowledge and experience. Oh, and if they wanna get rid of you they will find a reason regardless of the union so don't think that you are safe. They say that they are open in their communications with the employees but then judge you and shut you down if your ideals dont conform to theirs. Company ten years ago use to care about the employees bending over backwards but now it's all about making those sales. Need to call in sick? Expect to be guilt tripped and questioned about how sick you really are. Knew an employee who came in sick with his ears bleeding because they wouldn't let him call in even though he had two ear infections. Find another place to work and save your soul. Customers suck as well. Treat you like you're their servant. Company is turning into a corporation.
