Pros
Salara comes on time; I'm really scrapping the bottom of the barrel here. . I'll suggest you keep this as a last resort. Join the organization if you get nothing else, never stop searching for jobs when you are here and leave the moment you get anything else.
Cons
To start off, this is not a research organization, it is a data collection agency. You'll hardly ever be doing anything research related. It is mostly data collection and some basic data management. So, although some positions are advertised as 'research' based, have a realistic expectations that you'll predominantly be a glorified field manager and proposal writer. . The organization has extremely high turnover rate, which is kind of clear by always having open positions on offer, even though the organization does not grow. For my one year at the organiztaion, at least 12-15 people have both joined and left/fired. Although the company size remained constant at 20, by the end of the year, I was probably 7th most senior employee in the organization. Basically most people who work here are (presumably) constantly looking for other opportunities and leave the moment they find something. . Work environment is extremely toxic. You'll not be given any time to learn the ropes and be shouted at if you can't do thing the way they do at Outline. You're expected to work after hours without any recognition. Some employees who work at weekends and during leaves are praised publically to instill that as a model. It is 9 hour workday and you'll have no work-life balance. . The upper management (and especially the director) is very problematic; she is extremely impatient, arbitrary and impulsive. It was far easier to interact with clients than the boss. You're likely to develop PTSD if you have to deal with her closely.
