Pros
Many wonderful employees/co-workers. Coworkers hang out outside of work from time to time! A refreshing familial environment as promised. Many opportunities to learn and broaden your knowledge/skills at project sites whether as in intern or FT. Great benefits (Dental, Vision, Medical) and a plethora of options to choose from. Great starting pay if you're fresh out of college! Awesome owners!
Cons
Despite how awesome and familial a large majority of the employees are, upper management needs work. Management overall lacks accountability. Because management is comprised of many embedded, long-standing relationships, it's difficult for them to discern who truly is most qualified and fit for their roles besides expertise and seniority. Some of Upper Management often have their favorites and may stifle growth of engineers rather than provide them helpful tools, advocacy, and support to succeed. The amount of long-term, embedded relationships make it difficult to build and sustain trust for over time, especially if you get thrown under the bus. Owners are wonderful! However, leadership can intimidating, manipulative, abrasive, and racially/culturally insensitive and behaves in ways the rest of executive leadership may be unaware. Again, embedded relationships play a role here.
