Pros
If you are excellent at what you do, Orrick is a tremendous place to be. You will be given autonomy to make decisions and chart a strategic course for yourself and your team. Upper management is diverse (unlike many other firms!) with women in leadership positions making difficult decisions every day for the betterment of the business, I find the comment about "mean girls" to be sexist, juvenile and frankly quite pedestrian considering this and could not disagree more. I have experienced nothing but support and significant mentorship since coming here, and see Jess Perry as an amazing and unflappable leader working to overhaul a department which was previously extremely disconnected. The fact that Orrick is willing to support an innovative vision instead of following the typical BigLaw path is something I greatly appreciate and value. I have also worked at many firms, and Mitch is the most approachable and "present" Chairman I have experienced.
Cons
Our administrative systems are not the most cutting edge - but it is a known priority to change and advance.
