Pros

Only the benefits, that is the only positive, in this branch of the company at this time.

Cons

Management at the branch level is not trained and qualified to manage. They do not have your best interests in heart, also do not go to bat for you and back you up ,during problems and crisis situations. Management is interested only in the numbers and multiple bonuses, associated with the number of services being done in a day and week and quarter. You are not a route manager, that part of the job has been taken away from you and giving to a scheduleing office, that is over 500 miles away. They at the scheduling office have no relationships with any of your customers, so they just press buttons to clear their monitors of work and services to be done, which does nothing postive for you or your customers. Account notes will be ignored for times and days for your customers. For yourself and other techs,, time for your family is like pulling teeth,, Management and the scheduling office will start and stop their days on a doable schedule, but your family time will be sacrificed for them. Other branches in Nebraska, have Management, that supports and cares about their employees, Lincoln branch does not. You don't want to be employed in the Lincoln branch. Positive and great management left this branch because of negative effects and feed back from the regional level. Orkins CEO needs to clean house at the regional and Lincoln branch level, in order to succeed in this market, for customers and employees.

Leads can be slow at times, especially in certain seasons Long hours can be required to meet goals Some days are more unpredictable depending on the workload

Pros

Good pay, opportunities for sales depending on region

Cons

Orkin cares more about quantity over quality. If you care about doing a good job, don't work here. They will load your day up with tons of jobs and not enough time to do them (or do a good job anyways.) Management lives in their own bubble, and communicates poorly. I transfered to a new region and all services were a mess. Customers who have had Orkin for a year plus had homes still infested with pests. Prior techs hadn't cleaned any cobwebs, never cleaned webbing off siding or eaves. It was embarrassing. Commercial services weren't any better. I believe prior techs were just scanning stations and leaving. Orkin only cares if you punch through reports and collect money. If you also bring up customers that are being overcharged, management will never fix that either. Benefits also weren't great and quite expensive. Manager would also use slurs like the R-word despite knowing I had an autistic child. Just a gross place with gross values.
