Pros

People are generally hard working and helpful to one another. Given a variety of tasks and responsibilities and are kept busy. The management is exceptionally quick in seeking out new market niches and collaboration opportunities. Good work/life balance. Convenient location.

Cons

The management spent too much time looking out but not enough looking in. As a result, most managers (not all) are out of touch with daily operations. This is not a place to be a manager. For a small company, the management is highly political. Condescending attitude toward employees.

Pros

Friendly atmosphere, nice lab facilities, helpful supervisor, good co-workers.

Cons

Limited compensation for interns. Some workflows can experience bottlenecks when high throughput processes such as plasmid preparation are in high demand. Online sequencing submission system could be improved to prevent continuous session timeouts.

Pros

Origene has many helpful and collaborative employees. Team members are often willing to support one another. When you ask for assistance, most people are responsive and well‑intentioned. Day‑to‑day interactions are professional and polite. Managers and senior staff are accessible and open to questions or feedback when approached.

Cons

The hardware provided for work was under-powered, which can slow productivity and make completing tasks more difficult than necessary. The monitor supplied also lacks sufficient brightness and clarity, which can be straining and makes it harder to work effectively, particularly for detailed tasks. Additionally, the internship program is structured as a full-time role but remains unpaid. Interns are expected to work standard full-time hours and take on responsibilities comparable to regular employees. While the experience can be educational, expecting full-time labor without compensation can place a significant financial burden on interns and feels inequitable.
