11yAppreciate your honest feedback, and we have recently taken steps to more clearly define available career paths across the company. For example, we published a Global Career Framework to outline the expected knowledge, skills and abilities for all employees by level within an organization (i.e. “department”). Furthermore, we developed specific career frameworks for 7 internal organizations such as the technology and finance departments, among others, and by the end of this year we will publish career frameworks for all remaining organizations within the company. Finally, Orbitz provides internal postings of available open positions and publishes “Traveling Though Orbitz,” an internal newsletter, to highlight the many available paths to growth, and we promote development opportunities by way of Orbitz University, Tech Talks and other avenues to ensure that employees are equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to grow professionally.
