Pros
1.) The name stands out when applying for other jobs. Companies will come after you even if they don't know what you did fully within Oracle. 2.) Unlimited Sick Days 3.) Decent health benefits 4.) You can be dumb and not know anything regarding the Oracle Products, but can B.S your way into a management role if you're a good politician, and kick it good with the other managers in keeping their 'power' strong. 5.) Hiring a ton of new college hires 6.) Pay is decent
Cons
Most Toxic Work environment I've ever experienced. Have worked at Microsoft, EMC and Dell for inside sales and outside. Oracle Direct by far has the worst environment for Sales Reps and their Technical Sales Engineers. Reasons why: 1.) OD Managers all stick together like a 'Good ole' Boys' club. They gang up on employees in giving them a hard time when they speak up or don't take orders. It creates not only a unprofessional yet disrespectful toxic environment, but it spills over to how the reps and people around treat each other, since majority of reps are straight from college in their first job. 2.) When speaking to HR (not all HR but mine and another specifically for a team member) they are sided with the managers. Even pointing out evidence of how the treatment is shown. (Creates a sense of helplessness). 3.) Managers leave early and majority of the time not in their office, taking 2-3 hour lunch breaks, coming to work late and leaving early. The employees who they manage don't say anything since their job/territory/success within the company becomes jeopardized or work environment becomes a living hell. 4.) Huge call center where there's two people within 2 feet of each other, you can hear everyone talk or call customers on the phone. Doing training and concentrating is a task. Can't leave cubicle to learn within a quiet office etc since management wants you to be at your cubical at all times.
