The role was remote, which at least provided some distance from the unwarranted wrath the department senior leadership.
Cons
The department senior leadership openly favored a small inner circle; decisions (including travel assignments) consistently benefited that group. Despite being hired as fully remote without travel, I was repeatedly pressured to travel so that her “favorites” could avoid it, undercutting the agreed-upon arrangement. The designated “study manager” presented my work as her own to management and sites. Logging in each morning felt as draining as walking into a toxic office •
