Pros
The role I have at Optix is a Software Tester. It is hybrid work with days split in the office and at home.
Firstly, the onboarding was thorough, answering all questions that I had leaving me with everything I needed to hit the ground running. The support received therein has been consistent and allowed me to get the job done at a high quality. Any questions I had were answered and any additional support I needed was provided. Space was given to grow and get used to the technologies and systems used whilst simultaneously providing challenging tasks to own making you feel like you are contributing to the team.
After finding my feet there have been opportunities to expand my experience and skills by taking on more work and being exposed to automation. There are frequent progress reviews where goals are set, how these are going to be achieved and what support is needed to achieve these.
The people on the team are friendly, and happy to talk, and happy to help! and this extends to the management here too.
There are socials that are always occurring, whether it's a sports day, Halloween party or end of year party etc. if that is to your liking.
Cons
The office is in York and I am Leeds based so quite a commute. However, this is offset with the hybrid working scheme that is in place
