Pros
People were mostly kind and supportive. My supervisor was great and I learned a lot. I found it easy to approach different team members for advice, which helped me grow in my role. I loved the team I worked on.
Cons
The pay is capped at 12 dollars for interns. Low for a tech start up... a lot of talented people work here because of the mission driven work and great environment, it can also be difficult to attract people either technical experience. Most people were great but some team members can be kind of, well, mean. A couple of people on the content team were really outspoken and badmouthed the interns for eating a lot of snacks in the kitchen. So, maybe don’t hire 20+ interns, effectively increasing the company workforce by 30% and then verge into unprofessional behavior by complaining about how all the snacks are gone and the office is loud... publicly on the group slack? Management turns a blind eye to this behavior though, as the MD and the content people are friends outside work. There was a woman in marketing who complained to a member of her team about an intern... while that intern was in hearing distance. She intentionally did it to make them uncomfortable, too.
