Pros
- Great mission & vision and it's great to feel part of the solution for once. - Unionized so once you're employed and past your probationary period, your position in the company is largely* safe *recent layoffs saw 9 positions axed from management/upper management. Left shortly after because some of the roles they got rid of were critical and the mess left behind was overwhelming.
Cons
- burnout among middle management is extremely high. My workload concerns were never taken seriously as my manager was also equally burnt out and done. - The 'C Suite'/Executive team are lovely people, but change direction regularly without appropriately disseminating information down to middle management. This causes a lot of confusion and distrust. I spent a lot of time undoing/redoing work because our program wasn't appropriately updated or consulted. - high turnover among employment specialists due to unrealistically high caseload expectations. It's something of an inside joke for the rest of us who don't case manage.
