Pros

You will have the opportunity to develop your skills and gain guidance from experienced mentor trainers. The schedule offers some flexibility; however, it is important to maintain clear boundaries and be firm in protecting your designated days off.

Cons

Honesty & Transparency: In my experience, communication with both clients and trainers was not always accurate or transparent, which created trust concerns. Compensation: Pay was low relative to what clients were being charged for services, making the overall compensation structure feel unbalanced. Sometimes clients paying for a service to and the trainer not getting paid for it at all. Upfront Costs: Trainers were expected to invest in significant training costs before ever receiving their first dog, which created a financial barrier to getting started. Contractor Structure: Trainers were required to operate as independent contractors (including forming an LLC), yet were restricted from training dogs independently outside of the company. This created a mismatch between classification and actual working conditions. Workload Expectations: There was a considerable amount of administrative work, including tasks like video editing, without any additional compensation. Favoritism & Culture: There appeared to be favoritism within the organization, along with inconsistencies in how policies and expectations were applied. I also observed an environment that did not feel inclusive to all individuals especially LGBTQ. Consistency & Organization: Overall, the company lacked consistency in operations, communication, and expectations, which made it difficult to succeed and feel supported long-term.
