Having worked at another Energy Company. I thought Octopus would be the best place to be as you hear lots of good things. However, During Training I reached out twice to the Onboard lead with regards to a change of circumstance but I was ignored both times and did not get an answer to my query. I no longer feel comfortable reaching out. Having joined a team; on the first day you are set with multiple expectations and are not eased in to the role. On my first week alone I was the highest call taker in the team. During this time there was also an incentive taking place which everyone was pressured to meet, you are enticed into the role with the expectation that the business is not KPI Driven but rather thrive on Customer happiness. However, it was not felt like this as everyone was expected to do overtime with no notice at all as we were told on the day - The overtime is not paid but rather you receive a £25 Uber eat spend- what about those who don't use Uber eats ? What about those who are not able to commit to overtime and have kids at home- why are they made to feel insignificant and forced to do the overtime ? I also believe the TL needs to get some Leadership training as there is a way to speak to your team if they are not hitting all the targets, its not fair to pressurise them and not offer further training or time to complete those incomplete tasks. Majority of your day is on back to back calls there is less time on emails and complaints which are also overflowing.
