Thank you for sharing your story. We are dismayed to hear that this has been your experience. The behavior you described is wrong, and it’s against our company values. Together we are building a culture that spans countries, genders, and perspectives, and strongly believe that this diversity makes us a better team and company. It’s also our responsibility to protect this, so that everyone feels included and that OctoML is a place they belong.
We do not tolerate harassment or hostile, racist, sexist, or other discriminatory behavior of any kind from any Octonaut, regardless of position. These standards are non-negotiable. All of us are responsible for living and maintaining these standards, including by reporting concerns raised by fellow Octonauts.
Our commitment to you OP, and all Octonauts, is to thoroughly investigate and respond to reports of behavior that falls outside our documented standards. Incidents can be reported to People Ops, your manager, any people manager or executive you feel comfortable with. Retaliation against anyone making good faith reports of harassment or discrimination will not be tolerated.
We will also provide ongoing education and training, continue to improve our processes for recruiting, training, and mentoring diverse Octonauts, and to support protected forums for employees to share their experiences.
