Pros

The pay is okay for a retail manager on salary, but the hours are long. The health benefit plan for managers is good too. Most of the sales associates can be fun to work with and friendly with the management.

Cons

The 10 hour days are too long. There is too much manual labor for managers to do. The corporate people who go out to the stores can be rude and demeaning to all the people who work in the stores. Some store employees will have so much "drama" in their lives that they will make everyone they work with miserable. There is a very bad system in place for cashier over/shorts, and lateness that puts good employees in a frequent panic, and sends everyone's blood pressure up. The bonus program for managers was a joke, $350 per year for making the store goal?

Pros

You don't experience many of the retail horror stories you would at larger chains. Management was reasonably flexible with scheduling and always took our side during customer disputes. 30% discount nice bonus too (40% on some days)

Cons

None that I can think of
