Not great, not bad - Applications Engineer OPTIS Employee Review

Do something different every day. Some days I'm supporting customers, troubleshooting software issues, working on a project, taking material measurements, demonstrating software to prospected customer, or going to a tradeshow. It is far from mundane. Some travel throughout the year is also a huge plus, if you like to explore new places.

Working with others in different time zones can be difficult sometimes, due to the delay.

Overall a great place to work, everyone you work with has at least at a masters level of education or PHD. The offices in North America are small, less than 10 people giving you all the benefits of working at a small business but with the stability and backing of a large company. I am always working on something new and exciting, everyday is something a little different. - Benefits package is excellent - People are all friendly and get the job done, good team environment. - Good mix of travel, they give you some control - Good professional / work life mix - Company looks at your skill set and helps you find the best career path for you. - Sells great software, are making the right moves to grow in the current and future markets.

Most of the negatives, the company knows about and has been improving over my time here. Typical pains working at a global company. Can be difficult having a majority of your co-workers being in different time-zones. This can cause slow turn around. Most of the company works out of France. The communication between offices is poor but is getting better. Organization is not the best, expectations are not always clear. To be successful at this company, you need to be someone who takes the initiative.
