Pros
- pay is decent, but not too great for the workload - free drinks - discounts for friends and family - coworkers are really welcoming and cool, especially since we are all in the same age range - hours are somewhat flexible, and very predictable- usually it's just an 11:30-5 or 5-10 shift, so that was nice - fast paced (good since it's never boring) - regular check-ins/meetings are conducted to connect with employees and see what can be improved on (on both management and barista side)
Cons
- owner gives unrealistic standards due to them not understanding how demanding the job really is - owner likes to pretend that they want criticism, but gets defensive when they receive it - favoritism is apparent among higher ups - very exhausting/demanding due to the constant business - moving up takes a lot of time, especially if you aren't a favorite - you need to constantly be looking for things to do or you'll fall behind due to the fast- paced environment
