Pros

I have always enjoyed working at Nutrien, some of the best people I have ever worked with, and I know they all feel committed to our culture - helping fed the world by providing the best agronomic solutions available. We have a very friendly and welcoming environment. Overall, I feel the compensation is great as well.

Cons

Sometimes it feels as if corporate is purposely trying to make things more difficult, and I am losing faith in the executive leadership. In the past year Nutrien let go of our CEO - twice. We might need a new board of directors. After a stressful couple of pandemic years, where the rank and file not only kept the company afloat, but overachieved, we have complete confusion at the top and more concern for ESG scores than actually doing what is right by the employees and our customers. I am legitimately concerned that our executive leadership is completely out of touch with our customers and the employees that make this company go. They really do not listen to the employees nor customers, they are merely virtue signaling to the market. They cannot actually look at data and make reasonable decisions. They have been on the wrong side of every decision during the pandemic, looking bad in retrospect. They are going full bore with Diversity and inclusion, but they able to articulate the value (including the new D&I VP). Here's a quote from our leadership: "At Nutrien, we are building an environment where our people, customers, suppliers and communities are treated fairly and focused on delivering value for all." So this implies we have not treated our people, customers, suppliers and communities fairly in the past? This company has been one of the best companies and only recently has this been made into an issue. This isn't a real statement, its made up "signaling" language. They actually did a diversity and inclusion survey among the employees and then refused to show employees the results. If this is such a problem, why not show employees the results? Then they rolled out a "new" EAP, that worse than our old one. It's full of mediation advice, but cuts your benefits if you need to see a therapist, which after the last couple years, I'd be surprised if anyone didn't need therapy. We have some great leaders who have been here a while, but they need to stop moving things around and focus on helping the folks in the field that are helping our customers.
