Pros

-Colleagues are friendly, helpful, and talented. -The business is undergoing a phase of rapid maturation, but still has relatively few personnel. As a result, there are opportunities to work closely with people across every function and gain exposure to facets of the business beyond your own. You are not just a cog in the machine. -With the recent influx of experienced talent from other well-established companies, one can expect that processes and performance will continue to improve. -HR makes a robust effort to ensure that new (and existing) hires feel welcome and included. The onboarding process with regard to the company culture and policies is quick and comprehensive, and includes many fun events.

Cons

-Breathless pace. This is partly down to the nature of the industry. On the bright side, it means that there is plenty of opportunity to demonstrate your value to the organization. If you are looking to coast by, look elsewhere. -Lacking some infrastructure that is needed for a business of this size to operate most efficiently. However, there is awareness of these gaps and steps towards improvement are being steadily taken. -Frequent meetings with large numbers of attendees are not always beneficial in light of the time they take up.

Cons

This is one of the worst companies I’ve ever worked for. The “best place to work” recognition does not reflect the reality of what many employees experience. During my time in this company the culture is driven by favoritism and a lack of accountability. Leadership roles are often filled by individuals who lack the necessary qualifications, while others are consistently overlooked without clear or honest explanations. Performance and merit are not the deciding factors for advancement. There is a consistent pattern of poor management, little to no training, and zero accountability for bad leadership decisions. Instead of building a professional and supportive environment, the culture rewards fitting a certain image over actual capability. I also observed ongoing inequities in advancement opportunities. Many BIPOC and LGBTQ+ employees were given vague or inconsistent reasons for not progressing within the company, while white employees / white hiring candidates advanced more easily. Over time, these patterns became difficult to ignore. Overall, the environment felt toxic, frustrating, and discouraging. I would strongly recommend that anyone considering working here carefully evaluate whether this is the right fit no matter what role you are applying.
