      Pros

      Approachable staff, Casual work environment, Interesting group of people to work with. Excellent place to work with a variety of unique RF design and testing problems. Company is making great efforts to continuously improve their design processes and communications. Upper management is making great strides in reducing inefficiencies in business processes. They are also making a fantastic effort at transitioning from a small to medium business and making sure certain things are lost in the transition. I expect significant growth of the business in the next few years. Recent training efforts are a fantastic step forward in improving employee skill sets. CEO is more approachable than he first seems Hard to get bored

      Cons

      Lower than industry average pay, Project Managers have a lot of control over labor planning which can create some interesting dynamics and a more short sided view of training efforts. There is an expectation of quick turn on projects without much buffer built in. This leads many support engineers and design engineers to put many hours in order to make up for lost time on the schedule. Occasionally cost cutting measures in certain overhead areas wind up costing more in the long run. Renting test equipment instead of purchasing, push-back on certain overhead items. Though I also believe this area has very recently been recognized and an effort has been made to improve in that area.

Although we don't always offer what larger corporations offer in monetary compensation, we strive to keep competitive in additional ways. We offer very competitive benefits, an on-site gym, a family-oriented atmosphere of continuous learning and growth, and don't forget the birthday holiday, just to name a few! We recognize that the field we work in can be very fast-paced and high-stress. It is important to the Leadership Team at NuWaves that each person is taking care of themselves. Our One-Team approach is vital in how we do business. We're all in this together. With the purchase of new testing equipment in January, it is our expectation that we alleviate some of the concerns that were expressed by the team. Communication is key. Thank you for being a great asset, and keep up the great work!

      Pros

      Great small business atmosphere. As a veteran-owned business, we are an extremely patriotic company. The opportunities for growth at NuWaves are vast – much better than I experienced with larger corporations. Put, NuWaves measures success in both business results and employees’ personal and professional growth.

      Cons

      NuWaves is not a fit for everyone. It is a fast-paced environment and results are demanded. Directors, project managers, and higher-level engineers are expected to contribute to the business development process. Those with a “that’s not my job!” attitude will not fit NuWaves’ culture.

      Pros

      I enjoy coming to work everyday and working with a lot of great people who are motivated to do their best work. The President is very passionate about the company is always challenging the team to achieve more. Most people genuinely care about each other, want NuWaves to do well, and seek opportunities to make the company better. The management team strongly believes in leadership at every level of the company. The company will invest in employees who take the initiative to grow themselves. Since it is a smaller company, you have the opportunities to learn all aspects of the business if you so desire. This includes Project Management, RF Engineering, Accounting/Finance, Logistics, Manufacturing, Leadership/Management, and more. If you want to grow your leadership skills, you will definitely have opportunities to be challenged and get out of your comfort zone. The company works on a lot of technically challenging projects that gives engineers and technicians opportunities to grow their skillset.

      Cons

      There are a lot of meetings and communication can be improved throughout the company. These are items the team is actively working to address, but it can currently slow down productivity. In a small company, if one person isn't pulling their weight, it can have a big impact.
