I am a notary public. Never before had an assignment with this company. I received an SMS for a job located about an hour's drive. I told them I was available and I was assigned. On their confirmation email, I was given a log in access with a ridiculous fee of something like $45. The going rate for this job here is no less than $100. I called to get fee adjustment and the guy told me this in not the practice and that once I accept a job I am required to complete it as it is a matter of contract and that they cannot get adjustment from the lender. I told him no contract was created because there was no stated consideration (fee), and that he needs to increase the fee or cancel. He eventually took me off of the ridiculous assignment. I wonder who gives assignment to these kinds of predatory businesses? This is wrong!!!
