Pros
Some of the most amazing veterinarians I've ever worked with! Exposure to many different veterinarians with a host of different lessons to be learned from each.
Cons
Advancement and pay raises seemed stagnant at best. Given that it is a non-profit there often seemed to be a conflict between clinical and non-clinical staff members regarding major medical decisions. Other municipal shelters I worked at prior, gave a voice to everyone from kennel workers to clinical staff regarding "end of life" decisions as well as behavioral assessments and thoughts on potential adopters. During my time there, there was a power tripping adoption coordinator who was more concerned with brown nosing wealthy adopters than objectively finding the right animal for the right home.
