Pros

Never made staff return to the office

Cons

This company is a sham and as complete lack of leadership that isn’t tied to revenue. I was employed in the same role for 5.5 years without any career advancement guidance or coaching. I was let go as part of a layoff without any warning or poor performance reviews. I was incredibly good at my job and very well liked and respected company wide. After being let go for budget reasons, I see my job posted on LinkedIn within hours. Instead of letting go a mom of two young children, why not let go one of the old white males that make four times what I did? It’s embarrassing how much the company changed when it was acquired last year. Do not let recruiters fool you into thinking this is the place to be, it is, if you want to sell your soul and be fired after years of committed service.

Pros

I’m about a month in, so still relatively new, but my experience so far has been very positive. The team is incredibly welcoming and I felt valued right away. There is a strong remote culture, which I really appreciate, and a great emphasis on work-life balance. My manager is supportive, approachable, and trusts me to do my job without micromanaging. Compensation and benefits are competitive as well. I’m also encouraged by the direction of the company and the energy coming from new leadership.

Cons

There are a lot of moving parts and projects that require fast turnaround times, which can feel a bit hectic at times. That said, it’s understandable given the transitions currently happening across the organization. As a remote company, there is also some opportunity for increased collaboration and alignment across and within teams to ensure clear prioritization, but that feels like a common challenge in a distributed environment.

Pros

Fully remote. A few genuinely good people who were talented and great to work with.

Cons

Everything else. Nordic is a shadow of its former self, relying on a reputation from a previous era. Today, the culture is driven by favoritism, cliques, and a management style that perceives questioning or new ideas as a challenge to authority. There is a lack of transparency in how performance is documented and handled, and HR aligns with management rather than acting as a neutral party. If you value independent thought and professional respect, you may find this environment frustrating. Pay is well below market value, and the culture has devolved into a "hustle" mentality. Due to severe understaffing and a failure to backfill senior roles, the workload has shifted heavily onto underpaid junior employees. It feels as though the company is being hollowed out, prioritizing short-term value extraction for investors over long-term operational health, suggesting the company is being positioned for a sale rather than sustainable growth.
