I was disappointed to be asked about my previous salary during the hiring process. This is an outdated and unfair practice that puts candidates at a disadvantage especially those who may have been underpaid in past roles. What matters is the value someone brings to the role, not what they were making before.

Asked for previous salary instead of focusing on the role’s budget or market rates. Feels like they’re trying to offer as little as possible instead of paying fairly. Shows a lack of respect for professional growth and transparency.
