Pros

Some genuinely good people (usually lower on the hierarchy).

Cons

No real professional development opportunities or knowledge leaders in the company (often too worried about keeping their own jobs). Power tripping culture with many backroom meetings and scheming that they believe the rank and file does not notice (they do). Myopic ex-military approach to business. Misleading/meaningless position titles and requirements (a symptom of the above issues). Hierarchy is bloated and top-heavy. Lot of talking themselves up but a lack of proper execution. Senior staff have connections, which are important for generating business in a firm, but many lack professional substance, integrity, and competency. Typical presenteeism and obsession with employee control/lack of trust that comes with a poorly run corporate environment.

Pros

On the surface, employees have solid credentials and collaborative spirit.

Cons

Management severely lacks any leadership and tends to bait and switch new hires. The founders and managers focus on how to better themselves in the short term rather than what is beneficial to the long term health of the company. In some instances this included flat out misrepresentation to clients and company partners. If a senior manager is not physically in the office it's nearly impossible to communicate with them. I expect to be able to get in touch with company decision makers around the clock. If a manager is on holiday (often for weeks at a time) all emails and phone messages are met with radio silence. This is unacceptable in 2017, especially from a consultancy firm. I would be surprised if the company survives through 2020.
