Pros

I worked at Noetic Group for three years and had a great experience. The cultural fit, for me, was outstanding. The team was diverse in age and experience, the range of work was broad and intellectually stimulating, and the tempo kept you on your toes - which for me was a good thing. I liked the way people shared knowledge, skills and experiences for the on-going benefit of the group; there was no infantile 'information is power' games played. From management, I felt I had a good combination of guidance, authority, accountability, responsibility and resources. And the ability to discuss all these issues face-to-face in an open and frank fashion.

Cons

Leaving! I enjoyed the work and the company culture. I left because an opportunity came up to work back in the Public Service in a particular job; I job I'm still in. If I left that job tomorrow, I'd be knocking on Noetic's door to see if I could contribute again as part of the Canberra team.

Pros

On the surface, employees have solid credentials and collaborative spirit.

Cons

Management severely lacks any leadership and tends to bait and switch new hires. The founders and managers focus on how to better themselves in the short term rather than what is beneficial to the long term health of the company. In some instances this included flat out misrepresentation to clients and company partners. If a senior manager is not physically in the office it's nearly impossible to communicate with them. I expect to be able to get in touch with company decision makers around the clock. If a manager is on holiday (often for weeks at a time) all emails and phone messages are met with radio silence. This is unacceptable in 2017, especially from a consultancy firm. I would be surprised if the company survives through 2020.
