Pros
There's flexibility in working from home or office. Dogs in both locations.
The second office is in a decent city location with great restaurants nearby.
Weekly meetings with anonymous feedback, and monthly CEO sessions to ask your questions.
When you get the opportunity to work in a team with trust and understanding, it makes a huge difference.
You will learn things through practical experience. Though it may be tough, it is a useful way of getting the experience in.
Cons
I was advised by my doctor to leave the company as working there had taken its toll on my mental health.
Bonuses and praise go to the same people. I have a list of names of developers who went beyond but were absent from these events.
There is an unusually high degree of blame from upper management.
There is often a huge amount of pressure with no help as everyone else working hard too on their own tasks. The risk of burn out is very real.
Management pushes themselves on game projects without being involved in the every day meetings or without needed experience. They don't seem to understand the weight their presence has.
Too many meetings. You will sometimes spend days doing nothing but meetings, and then working in the evening to get tasks done.
Life/Work balance is promoted as one of the core pillars of the company, but you will receive messages after hours, weekends, and holidays.
