I personally loved the weekly company-wide meetings where the CEO discussed the state of the company, objectives, and focused on setting weekly short, medium, and long term goals for both the company and the individual employees. Knowing the company's goals, as well as your fellow employees' goals, helped to empower everyone to help each other succeed in those short, medium, and long term goals. It helps create a goal-oriented culture of team work and constant self-improvement.
This is something that I have missed in every job I have had since. It is a practice that I believe every small to medium-sized company should engage in.
