Pros

For the most part, you get to work with some great people. The org is structured, but not stuffy, and an overall casual and supportive environment.

Cons

Management and HR are definitely not your support. It’s like a clique and secret society. While the org is structured, the departments, not so much. Management not trustworthy at all and very secretive. They also play favorites. You have to be very careful there and be able to play politics extremely well. Salary range is a bit on the lower side and there had been a lot of complaints on underpaying minorities, in addition to being overlooked for promotions. This place does seem to be a revolving door. Oh and pricey medical benefits plans. $900+/month to cover myself and my children.

Pros

Challenging and rewarding work. You'll work in an environment that publishes the news everyday, if you are excited about helping people learn more about the world, you'll love it here. Good benefits, hybrid work, and really smart coworkers.

Cons

Does not pay like big tech but as an IC you'll be part of union with job protections
