Pros

.Pretty good benefits, 401(K) & tuition reimbursement .Some personal development classes .Some hard workers, very conscientious who accomplish a lot & solve a lot of issues for their customers & for the company

Cons

.Very limited, if any training for new employees .Corporate purchases applications that don't work for the business, going over budget & deadlines, creating more work, having to hire more people & working I.T. day & night to implement .Management has their friends & favorites - the others get most of the work .Management bullies employees & allows bullying between employees .Employee surveys & exit interviews are a waste of time - if you point out problems with processes or peers, you become the problem. Focus groups analyzing the employee survey results are only looking for the "problem" employees, not to improve anything. .Annual performance reviews are a waste of time .Some employees feel discriminated against .No appreciation for loyal seasoned workers

Pros

Challenging and rewarding work. You'll work in an environment that publishes the news everyday, if you are excited about helping people learn more about the world, you'll love it here. Good benefits, hybrid work, and really smart coworkers.

Cons

Does not pay like big tech but as an IC you'll be part of union with job protections
