Pros

An exciting "mission-driven" workplace -- your work plays a key role in driving the day's news-cycle. Good benefits.

Cons

An extraordinarily political and messy workplace. Different departments often work at cross-purposes. Senior leaders are often inexperienced and arrogant. Constant "reorganizations" will mean you are frequently rotated onto new managers and projects. This is particularly true in the "tech" side of the company -- product, engineering, and data.

Pros

Challenging and rewarding work. You'll work in an environment that publishes the news everyday, if you are excited about helping people learn more about the world, you'll love it here. Good benefits, hybrid work, and really smart coworkers.

Cons

Does not pay like big tech but as an IC you'll be part of union with job protections
