Pros
Loved the kids! Great potential. Great facilities.
Cons
To begin... we are not angry or vindictive.
We were not fired, threatened, disciplined or ever written up or repremanded. We resigned because of tremendous differences of philosophy and practise. We comment only for the good of present and future clients (the kids).
T errible administration!!! All about outward appearances. Terrible communication. Huge inequity in pay programs. Only concerned with forcing a "one size fits all" program on every resident. Love and care for the clients is very limited. Abusive language and physical confrontations are very frequent FROM THE STAFF. The kids are very angry and need loving, one on one individual attention and care. The program presented to the public eye is no where near what really happens. They DO NOT do many of the things they advertise or represent themselves as doing for the DHHR. Smoke and mirrors. We were TOTALLY disheartened and amazed at what we saw! If the truth were known by the COG leadership it would be totally overhauled. DHHR would shut them down. Could be a wonderful place but totally bogus as is. Us "old" staff have ALL left. Tremendous turnover. The spiritual emphasis is extremely weak to non existant. Office staff smoke drink and curse openly. One remaining older staff couple say "it is so far from what it used to be. It wasn't like this before. We have no where to go and no hope of change! SAD SAD SAD... IT COULD BE A TRULY WONDERFUL HAPPY PLACE. The director lives in open relationship with her boyfriend who sneaks on and off of campus late at night and early in the mornings. Needs a HUGE shakeup. They think nothing of lying for appearance sake. We and other staff are willing to back up and prove every statement for the good of the kids who are trapped at NRR.
