Pros
The only pro I can think of is the unlimited PTO.
Cons
I joined Netrush with high hopes and enthusiasm, particularly due to the appointment of a new CEO by the founders. The new CEO brought in the right people to fill executive roles, signaling positive changes ahead. However, it became apparent that the founders were unwilling to relinquish control to the newly appointed CEO, leading to a toxic and unauthentic culture within the company.
The clash between the founders and the CEO resulted in constant power struggles and conflicting directives. This lack of alignment at the top trickled down throughout the organization, causing confusion and frustration among employees at all levels.
The toxic environment fostered by this power struggle stifled creativity, innovation, and collaboration. It led to frequent reorganizations, loss in revenue, and a palpable sense of uncertainty among employees, many of whom felt undervalued and disoriented.
Unfortunately, this internal turmoil resulted in the departure of not only the CEO but also many other valuable and effective employees in key positions. The exodus of experienced personnel further disrupted operations and eroded trust in leadership.
It was disheartening to witness the founders' reluctance to empower the new CEO and the consequent negative impact on the company's culture, performance, and employee morale. The decision to let go of capable leadership and valuable employees due to internal conflicts highlights a critical need for transparent and effective leadership succession planning. I hope that lessons are learned from this experience to prevent similar issues in the future and to foster a healthier and more productive work environment.
