NetLogic Microsystems

Is this your company?

Good learning experience for me, but do your homework before joining, be realistic in what you hope to achieve there. - Processor Group NetLogic Microsystems Employee Review

Pros

- Salary was decent for me, as was RSU component - Office building is nice - Project road map is solid, at least for the short term - Opportunity to gain experience

Cons

Many of the senior engineers from the RMI days have already left, or they have simply checked out, waiting for their RSU/options to vest. What remains is under experienced engineers and managements. Project management is largely ad hoc and there is very little (if any) technical leadership. The issue isn't talent, it is the undue stress on employees caused by short development cycles, poor management, ego's driving technical decisions, etc. One can spin this as being a company with a start up feel, but I see it as undue stress on employees. - Limited opportunities to move to management - Small (basically single person) team leading architecture of next generation chip. - 4 years vesting period of RSU (I am not sure what is average in the industry, but could be shorter) - No 401K matching

Pros

I worked on a good team under Netlogic. We were acquired by Netlogic (we were previously RMI). The team remained intact and were still given resources to continue our efforts.

Cons

I do fell like Netlogic did not fully included our remote site/remote team when it came to quarterly meetings, information about the company. Felt like we were in the dark at times. And then eventually they decided to cancel our product line. Didn't quite agree with that decision.
