Pros

I've worked at NetDocuments about a year now and I've really enjoyed it. I've been given opportunities to grow in my role just within the short time I've been here and have heard of several other people getting internal promotions - more than other companies I've worked at. I can't stress this next part enough. I've had to navigate or worry about layoffs at 2 of my last 3 jobs. This severely impacted my mental health, wondering if I'd ever find a stable job again. Getting the job here has given me peace of mind for the first time in 3 years. Of course there's always a risk of layoffs or reductions at any company, but it's just not a common thing here like it is at other tech companies, especially in Utah. Many people have been here for a long time and the company has avoided layoffs, which is super rare. I think the culture is still making a rebound from the COVID era like most companies. I can tell leadership is making an effort to create a good work environment, which is honestly the biggest hurdle. Many leadership teams don't even care - at my last job they sure didn't. I love that they do catered lunch the two days that I'm required to be in office. They have tons of snacks and drinks in the breakroom. There's a small gym on the first floor if people want to get a quick workout in. And I bought myself some new workout shoes with the $50/mo health stipend they provide. Companies that don't care don't do things like this. I honestly feel spoiled. Now on to pay. I won't go into details, but I'm in a good spot where I'm paid well but still have room for upward movement. I know a few people who feel their companies are taking advantage of them with the job market still recovering, but that hasn't been my experience here. My manager has been very open with me about where I'm at and where I could be. I've been pretty proactive at asking and talking through this in one on ones though. I'm not sure if my manager would've actively talked to me about my growth if I didn't bring it up, but it's cool they are willing to now that I have. The company as a whole seems more open about pay. My friend applied for a job and thought it was cool he could see the pay range in the posting. Work/life balance here is probably the best it's ever been in my career. Sure I work late some days, but it's by choice. I never feel obligated to do it and my manager never expects it. If anything, people tell me to go home if they get a message from me after regular working hours. I've never had to miss an appointment or family event. Also, the flexible time off is great. I've been able to take all of the time off I need while still getting my work done. Overall, I think this is a great place to work. Maybe I shouldn't say this, but this is the first time I've ever left a review on here, but I felt compelled to because I had a departing co-worker say they were going to leave a bad review. I just didn't relate at all to what they were saying and I feel like my co-workers, manager, and others who might be thinking of applying here, deserve to hear what's going well. I'm not the only one who feels this way either.

Cons

I feel connected to the vision of my team but struggle to connect to the overall vision of the company at times. I think there's more we can do to bring the entire company together as a whole. It would be cool to do more service projects throughout the year that get us out of the office. This could also be a good way to get to know people in other departments.
