Pros
I Love my job. Keep a great attendance record and life goes well. The work is not difficult. I mostly like the the good people I work with. Everyone seems to share the same passion and desire to produce quality goods. Everyone truly cares about our brother and sister coworkers. The pay is good for this part of Alabama. The health benefits are comparable with others, but the copay could be more manageable. Vacation time is good, but they wait too long before you get a 4th week. Your supervisor seems to genuinely be concerned about you and your concerns. Parent company has established a excellent ethics policy. They have a medical clinic on site, if you choose to use it. Safety is a huge concern. They take every method possible to keep you physically safe from injury. Paid holidays. At least 1 family (2 day) weekend a month.
Cons
Most important thing at Neptune is "Health & Safety". Looks good on paper and keeps them in the good graces of OSHA. But they could care less. The CEO stood in front of the plant in December 2022 and promised more weekends off. We have worked more weekends in 2023 than any other year I've been there. People have lost faith in him. The factory works are worn out, we're tired and exhausted. The mental and physical stress is overwhelming. The more we make the more they want. Your concerns fall of deaf ears and the train never stops. You supervisor passed along your concerns and they get ignored as well. HR is will listen, but doesn't control the Management. There is NO balance between work and personal life. I spend more waking hours there than with my children. There is NO bonus or incentive for your efforts and long hours. Yet select managers get bounces when WE do well. No personal days or sick leave like our competitors down the road offers. They won't let you have a Friday off for family weekend.
