Pros

Nice atmosphere, friendly, most people willing to muck in and lend a hand. Facilities are generally good and working terms are flexible. When things are going well it's a great place to work and benefits do flow down to staff.

Cons

Pretends it is about natural health and family values, but is actually a money printing machine for the two owners. Everything and anything will be compromised or thrown under the bus in order to chase after the ludicrously unrealistic sales and profit targets. 22% increase demanded one year, which everyone knew was impossible but had to chase anyway, with huge pressure to cut overheads and make the number. Then when the obviously unachievable targets were missed the staff pay the price with no bonus, while the owners are still walking off with many millions in dividend. Constant atmosphere that the company is about to go bust, when it's actually making a huge profit each year that most companies can only dream of. Becomes difficult to stay motivated when all your efforts only reward the guy living in a castle.

Pros

• Amazing natural wellness products with a long history. • Just a wonderful group of hardworking people based in the US office and other parts of the world. • The US group traditionally operates as a very small startup business, everyone pitching in as needed. Never boring. I've accomplished projects alone that, in any other company, would have required a team. I am very proud of my work. • As a global business based in London you will likely work with people all over the globe, which I loved so much. My work was seen in stores not just in US and Canada but by people worldwide. • Decent benefits and vacation days compared to average US business.

Cons

• Deep history of internal competition between countries, which negatively affects bottom lines. • Constant turnover in leadership. Some years only HQ makes decisions so your role will be to follow orders, even if it negatively affects your region. Some leaders will listen to localization needs, others less so. • In other global offices perhaps it differs, but in the US: Yearly budgets can be pulled at any time. / EVERYTHING needs be approved up the chain. / No time to educate yourself or keep up with software, time is focused on projects -- learn and adapt as you go. / Constantly busy but little upward opportunity. • Major layoffs common. They've cut amazing talent, seemingly after the person accomplished the impossible. (Not thinking of myself here, rather a few leaders in London.)
