Pros
$15/hour starting wage (I hear it’s since gone up) with mandatory overtime, and very laid back hiring practices. If you don't have much experience you could do worse.
Cons
The job is intense/stressful. If you like/are good at sales, you can for sure get a higher base wage at another local call center. Though the base pay is ok for the area, that’s a shame and speaks more to the need for a raised minimum wage than the actual living you can make at this job. (Again, as a novice, seasoned reps do pretty well). Micromanaging in a complex industry means that no matter how good you are, you will make a mistake and get talked to. These mistakes are sometimes on you, but it’s frustrating to see management come down on you like you’re a 5th grader in then principals office only to hear later that your mistake was escalated and dismissed by big insurance regulation ppl. Also, the health insurance isn’t real health insurance.
