Pros
The growth is amazing. You can get work in all aspects of infosec. Good place to learn, if you're okay with waiting few years before you earn. They hire only the best though only when they come at the least pay. If they offer you, you're probably really good. CEO is inspiring. Depending on you luck, you may find yourself some great colleagues without any politics. If you are lucky, you can leave without these guys trying to destroy your industry reputation. I was lucky - left before I became important. :) Definition of lucky - You have done something that they got offended with and asked you to leave, or, You had no value for the company till the time you were leaving, or, You were in a the good books of a particular person (mentioned later on) , or, You have earned enough respect around in the industry so that blaming you can backfire on their own image, or, In general, you left when no one needed to wash the blame for his own misdeed results on your head.
Cons
Very bad compensation & benefits. No Work/Life Balance, if you prefer to keep family and work life separate. No Job Safety, No Employee Development unless you keep on pleasing the CEO's right hand (who's also the highest ranked person after the CEO) either with your "respectfully" favorable words and actions (for gentlemen) or "respectfully" favorable words and attention (for ladies). High micromanagement to no support from top when needed, depending on the manager's whims. Policies can changes very often if you call it a policy, based on who's reading it. The CEO has lost touch of the reality of employee relations and morale in the company. Think about leaving the company and they will bite your back, and destroy your reputation. A close friend left and the aforementioned person tried their best to screw him over when he sent his background check to his manager from NII, who he trusted and considered a good person. This manager, who lost a client account earlier served by my friend because he misbehaved with him tried his best to give a feedback that will stop his hiring. Luckily, my friend is great performer at his new employer too, and they disregarded the negative feedback.
