Pros

There are no advantages or positive aspects to this role. The position seems to exist solely to fulfill tasks no one else wants to do, with no real purpose or value added

Cons

Working for the NHS, despite its reputation and apparent benefits, has been a deeply disappointing experience. As an HR officer, I have come to see that the role was created solely to handle tasks that no one else wanted to do, rather than fulfilling genuine Human Resources functions. There is little to no opportunity for professional development, learning, or career progression. The workforce appears to be demoralized, often remaining in roles they dislike for years, which further contributes to a toxic environment. This attitude makes collaboration and teamwork exceedingly difficult. There is a glaring lack of inclusivity, support, and a sense of community within the organisation. Overall, it is not a great place to work, and my experience reflects a workplace that neglects employee well-being and growth.
