Pros
Flexible working - in the office once a week minimum if office based which is fantastic and family friendly. Talented, passionate employees. Great experience and exposure to leaders in the NHS. Wide variety of projects to work on - can be good for getting experience but not so much if you want to specialise. My team was very friendly and I got given opportunities to explore things I was interested in. Had a fantastic manager who was invested in my development, however that’s not a universal experience across the org.
Cons
limited progression for junior staff - lots of senior managers comfortable and don’t move, so lack of opportunities to progress. It’s great as a stepping stone but you’ll likely need to move elsewhere to get a promotion as a junior. Pay is below average. Lack of diversity in some teams. Heavy dull workload which can be stressful at times.
