Pros

managers like a glass door are see-through it is made very clear to you who favourites are and to predict outcomes good for the environment as you save on emissions from not speaking, because you know nobody is going to listen anyway

Cons

Heavily management orientated, even the "team leaders" have no clear understanding of the word "leader" The only benefits are that of working for the NHS, NEL does not have any form of benefit or scheme From the very beginning you are on your own, you're treated like a child. Pretty much like being back in school all over again No career progression based on knowledge, it is all dependant on who you know, and if they like you Extreme lack of inclusivity, and no concern for health or wellbeing Everyone is either run down or severely depressed on a constant basis Managers will not stand by you, and will penalize with absolutely no facts Every manager has an idea of how things should be done, do not communicate between each other and inevitably blame you for not doing it the way they wanted it done, even if you did it as advised by another manager on the same team If you do manage to drag yourself through all the toxic that the company has to throw at you, there's always the concern that you will make next years redundancy scheme where you're left with no money for 2 months before christmas

Pros

I don't have any pros to mention

Cons

Found the culture incredibly toxic. It was a disorganised, “fly by the seat of your pants” kind of place, with no real structure or clear communication. There was a strong “pick me” culture that made collaboration difficult and unhealthy. While senior leadership (at the very top) seemed more competent, I wasn't directly managed by them. Instead, the day-to-day management felt more about power and control than supporting their team. It was particularly disappointing to feel like the token BME team member—there to tick a box rather than being genuinely included or treated equally. If you're looking for a healthy, supportive work environment, I’d strongly suggest looking elsewhere
