Pros

The only pro is that it is a dedicated group of staff who deeply care about the mission.

Cons

- Super racists: black employees were paid WAY less than white employees and were expected to do an untenable amount of work. Managers treated the black employees entirely differently than the white employees and then turned around and pretended to be "anti-racist." - Manager made inappropriate comments about people's bodies, their weight, their hair, their sexuality. There was absolutely no HR department, so when staff had issues, they had no one to go to for assistance. There have been multiple lawsuits against the organization for staff-related matters. - Feedback: there was absolutely no feedback about work. No one gave clear instructions, so everyone was constantly redoing work. There was absolutely no internal direction or goals- people are just doing projects because the CEO randomly decides we care about in any given week. There were no internal processes - everything was utterly chaotic. Staff felt overworked and under-resourced. There was no transparency about decision-making - the rules changed depending on who you were and what you looked like. If you spoke up - you were considered someone who "contributed to a culture of no" rather than someone trying to make the workplace a better place.
