Pros

The team at Mux is incredibly good at being inclusive and bringing you into the fold. From the interview process onward they approach everyone as an individual with an authentic kindness. The customers they service are interesting with great use cases. The vision for product updates tends to be customer focused. Video is an exciting space and Mux strives to be a leader.

Cons

Without a change the scope of what is possible has been reached and the direction of the company is banking on rooted in the same bets they made five years ago. Focus is split between product offerings with neither receiving enough attention. Leadership is set firmly in their ways unable or unwilling to pivot or experiment.

Pros

This is a group of hardworking and smart people who care about their work and others around them. Mux has navigated the difficult economy with transparency and care, even through hard decisions like reductions.

Cons

Working at a startup comes with risk and pressure. It's not for everyone, but in my experience Mux leadership has handled those two variables with clear communication and a be-human approach.

Pros

Standard start-up pros. Chance to build operations at a small growing company, working with some of the smartest people I've ever met, great pay and benefits, and there was a lot of opportunity for career growth. Company culture was pretty stellar - until late 2022

Cons

Hired rapidly then laid off over half the staff and made us sign agreements saying we won't say anything negative about them if we want our severance payouts. Given that agreement, I don't want to say anything that could get me in trouble, but I wanted to give a fair and honest rating because if you've noticed, the reviews are super positive, there really aren't many of them, and in the past year there's hardly any reviews. I don't think any company should essentially force their ex employees to choose between being able to pay their bills after a layoff and being able to share the truth about their experiences. There's things I can't say, but I'm not just upset that I was laid off. I was already looking for a new job due to many other factors.
