Pros
The office culture is welcoming, engaging, and collaborative. I appreciated the communal workspace, where shared workstations encouraged open communication and teamwork across all levels of the organization. It was refreshing to see the co-CEOs working alongside everyone else, demonstrating their passion and involvement in the company’s daily operations. In the L&D team, I worked with some incredibly intelligent and empathetic individuals that I now get to call good friends. My direct supervisor was so supportive and valued my professional growth while ensuring realistic workloads for each of us. Everyone was enthusiastic to work together and provide feedback when needed. The overall People Team is also filled with supportive, compassionate, and hard-working individuals. They always made room for me and were willing to hear what I had to say. Additionally, I appreciated Mud Bay's paid time off policy where sick leave time wasn't separated from the rest of my PTO allotment, allowing me to manage my paid time off flexibly and according to my needs.
Cons
While my experience was ultimately positive, I did notice occasional struggles with leadership's focus. Sometimes top leadership would get excited over new ideas seemingly before fully analyzing the full scope of what it would entail. These distractible "shiny objects" sometimes led to inefficient use of time and resources for projects that ultimately get scrapped or deprioritized for something else.
